I’m Striving To Be A Better Me

I'm striving to be a better me,

Because what I once was

Has only dragged me down 

And prevented me from achieving 

What I am aiming to accomplish,

I'm striving to be a better me,

Because I linger on what once was

Instead of seeing what is,

What is more important to live in

Then living in the darkness of the past

I struggle to see what the future holds for me 

Because I'm stuck on the past

But I'm striving to be a better me,

And become someone worth living for,

I no longer want to dwell on what once was,

And I'll start seeking out the truth in the present,

Because I'm striving to be a better me.
