it's winter again

all the trees have gone red and

it's been two seasons since i last saw you

i feel like

my body forgets you so easily

you will come here soon

we take turns across the sea

i know i love you 

but there is no imprint of you, only the thought 

on my way 

weaving through a landscape carved by water 

i see clouds like 

the ground exhaling, deep breaths paused just above the tops of the trees

without you, time passes differently 

i exhale alone 

i know i love you

tomorrow you will be here, i can't believe it

not all the leaves have dropped

there is still time to revel in our red
