At first,

I thought you

Were like everyone else.

That you were curious,

Would bother me,

Ask a few questions,

Get bored,

Leave.

But you

Actually

Listened.

I would talk

And talk

About the things

That interest me.

You didn't 

Get bored

And get annoyed.

You listened.

That felt good,

Having someone

To listen.

When I was upset

And needed silence

You understood.

You sat

Without speaking,

Without making me

Feel ashamed,

Or stupid,

Or silly.
