Cause and Effect
My bone is sticking
out through my skin;
protruding stark white and shiny
with crimson droplets dripping down
my arm.
I wish I paid attention in anatomy.
Does it make a difference
whether it is the ulna or radius?
Fragments of flesh litter the ground.
How did it happen?
It’s broken.
It doesn’t matter how it broke.
It just is.
I find myself thinking about America.
