In This Moment We Are All Broken
Broken is used to describe many things
A broken body with no hope to mend
A broken heart torn by a lover
A once innocent child broken by the reality of this world
Trust given so easily only to broken in an instant
Even a precious gift given by a loved one can accidentally broken.
But in this moment we are all broken
By our elders who have lost their values
By those in charge who are meant to represent us
By people who only want to hear the sounds of the loudest person screaming
Drowning all other voices in their hate.
In this moment we are all broken
Broken in body and heart
In the innocence and trust we have all lost
In the gift that used to be our differences
That are now meant to separate us
And break us
In this moment we are all broken.
