Write about a friendship that has been slowly drifting apart. A friendship where on gave his/her 100% while the other barely tried to put efforts, where one understood the other with one glance of the face while the other couldn't distinguish the simplest emotions of the first one, where the first one cared less because s/he already has many other friends while the other one barely had anyone to depend upon. Cover all these aspects and write a poem filled with angst. See if I could feel the pain in your words. Don't forget to tag me~

Empty space

I tried your phone,

A call a day,

A text (read but no reply),

A knock on the door,

That you ignore.

You've grown too busy,

Grown tall,

While I'm still small, unpopular, ignored.

Remember we used to laugh together,

At cheerleaders obsessed with looks,

Jocks chasing after girls like puppies,

We just watched the show.

Now your the actress,

The beauty queen in red,

Followed by your pet.

Your laughing with friends,

So why am I here?

Why am I the joke?

I remember running to you in tears,

Falling into your shoulder;

You always caught me in safe embrace,

Now you just turn away,

I'm OK.

I can tell your smile is fake,

You may fool the others,

I know you inside out,

You parents split,

Your playing tug of war,

So why do you not see me on the battlefield,

The soldier on your right.

You've got a hundred friends,

I used to be one of them,

I've forgotten why I'm not.

Why are you the winner,

I am barely together,

Holding on to fragments,

Clinging to memory and happiness past;

Surrounded by the empty space,

That used to be your place,

Mine filled by all that you now love.
