Drunk-Dialing The Universe

Let me tell you the truth

unvarnished when told

I’ve knocked a few back

though I shan’t be so bold

My laundry you’ll see

has become verily unclean

and I’ve drunk enough spite

to say what I mean

I shall lay it all out

before the sorting is done

you may giggle and titter

we’ll all have some fun

Now the morning has come

and I find what I’ve shared

it has all been made public

my dirties now aired!

I’ve made you a witness

a party it seems

to what I’d meant to delete

in this nightmarish dream

But it seems your sympathies

were needed and sought

the kindness of strangers

the comfort it brought

Now, dare I say it,

regret, I shall not

for drunk dialing the universe

upon second thought.
